Newly Renovated Hall - Fall Dates Available

We wish to thank Home Depot for donating a brand new floor for our Post hall.  Thanks to their generosity the hall is sparkling new and looks fantastic.  Home Depot installed new Armstrong tile throughout the hall and kitchen creating a sleek, unified space ready for any type of party, meeting or get together.  

The hall is available for rental any night of the week but weekend nights reserve first so make sure you book the space early.  Our hall manager, Peppie, can give you information on availability, rates, etc.   Call her at 314-472-5370.

We have a large hall that accommodates 200 available for rent.  The space is perfect for parties, wedding receptions, meetings, etc. In addition, there is a bar and commercial kitchen. The use of the kitchen is available for you or your caterer for a nominal fee. We have a full bar available including bottle and draft beer, wine, liquor, etc. 

Red Cross Blood Drive Friday Dec 23rd

VFW Post 3500 in conjunction with the American Red Cross in St. Louis is holding a blood drive from 3:30pm to 6:30pm on Friday, December 23rd. Please stop by and give this precious gift.

We regularly have events such as weekly Wednesday bingo run by the ladies. Bingo starts at 11am, beverages are for sale. We have karaoke in the bar on certain evenings and special patriotic themed events when appropriate through the year. Non-members are more than welcome to visit us anytime and enjoy our hospitality in the bar.

Rummage Sale Saturday May 7th

VFW 3500 is having our spring rummage sale on Saturday, May 7th.

10am to 4pm. (rain or shine)

If you wish to sell items you can rent a table for $15. If you just want to donate old goods to the post (so we can sell them) just drop them off anytime.

Veterans Fair & Pancake Breakfast February 20th

The Post will be having a Veterans Benefits Fair on Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 8am to 3pm. We will have a number of VFW, State and private agencies all with the aim to helping veterans and their families information and access to the veterans benefits available.

In conjunction we will be having an all you can eat pancake breakfast from 8am to 10:30am. It's only $6 for adults and $4.50 for the kids. It's a fun treat to watch Chris Cakes flip flapjacks all around the post hall.

Also, next weekend we will be having our first fish fry of the Lenten season. The fry will be going all day from 11am to 7pm.

Christmas 2009

The Post wishes all of our friends and neighbors a happy holiday season for 2009. We closed down for a week or so after Thanksgiving to take a break and clean the place up a bit, but the Canteen is back open and available to friends and members 7 days a week. Please stop by and say hi! Jeff Vilcek is our new bar manager and is working hard to make it a comfortable meeting place for all. The Ladies Auxiliary had a fantastic fundraiser on December 5th, all Elvis all the time. They raised over $1,000. Thanks for everyone who participated.

Highway 40

Highway 40 is back open and it's easier than ever to get to your Richmond Heights VFW 3500 Post. You can exit from either eastbound or westbound 40 at Big Bend and head south an easy 1/4 mile to the Post on your right.

Shuffleboard

We now have a new shuffleboard table set up in the canteen and we will be starting leagues come January, stop in to check it out.

Meat Shoot 2009

It's that time of year again for the VFW Post 3500 Meat Shoot.

If you're not familiar it's a fun opportunity to come by and take aim with a .22 single action rifle. There will be several rounds with chances to win great cuts of meat. We will have ham, pork loin, beef of various cuts, bacon, etc.

You don't need to be a great shot to win as with our arms and the spread pattern of the shot it sometimes comes down to luck!

The shoot starts at 1pm and goes until about 4. It happens every Saturday in November and December. We will also have some great drink specials to make the afternoon enjoyable.

Hall Rentals this holiday season

Hi, we still have some open dates available all the way into December but they are going quickly so if you are interested in renting the hall definately call the post at 314-781-3781.

As a reminder the hall can handle up to 180 guests. You can bring your own food, soda, water, entertainment. You must, however, buy any alcohol or beer through the post (that's state law).

We have ample parking onsite and a very convenient location.

Meat Shoot till December 13th

The post is running its annual meat shoot every Saturday afternoon until December 13th. We have a great time and the meat prizes are awesome. Happy Hour prices prevail at the bar during the event. We start shooting at Noon and go until around 5pm after we have about 8 rounds. There are plenty of members and non-members participating so stop on by and enjoy the fun.
